Artist Statement

Jayda Karsten’s interdisciplinary artistic practice investigates the spaces and places in the built environment that are in a state of flux. Drawn to the physical and conceptual space between Fine Art and Architecture, she explores the concepts of utopia/dystopia, construction/deconstruction and public/private space. Her site specific works are publicly engaging and  introduce a transformative human element to overlooked or underutilized spaces  by means of semi-industrial materials.
